Aluminum Forging

Aluminum forging heats a solid aluminum alloy billet to its plastic working temperature (typically 400 to 500°C, below melting), then shapes it under a forging hammer or press. As the metal flows into the die, the process refines the grain structure, closes gas porosity, and improves strength and toughness. We forge common alloys such as 6061 and 6082, and high-strength grades such as 7075 and 7050, to produce parts across a range of strength requirements.

We work mainly by closed-die forging: a heated billet is placed in the die cavity and pressed to shape, achieving accuracy to CT10–CT12. The process is highly efficient and well suited to volume production of complex parts such as steering knuckles, connecting rods, and wheel hubs.

Advantages
  • Consistent Quality
Once tooling and process parameters are established, the physical structure and quality of each part remains highly consistent throughout production.
  • High Strength-to-Weight Ratio
Forged and heat-treated aluminum alloys can achieve strength levels comparable to, or exceeding, some structural carbon steels.
  • High Material Density
The absence of internal porosity provides excellent fatigue resistance and reliable sealing performance in high-pressure applications.
  • Excellent Surface Performance
Unlike many die-cast aluminum alloys, this material is well suited for Type II colored anodizing and Type III hard anodizing.
