Investment Castings (Silica Sol Process)
Silica sol investment casting, also known as the lost-wax process, is the preferred choice for parts that demand high precision and complex shapes. A silica sol binder combined with ceramic shell technology produces near-net-shape parts with smooth surfaces (Ra 3.2 to 6.3 μm) and tight tolerances (CT4 to CT6), reducing the need for costly secondary machining.
With 30 years of experience in silica sol casting, we produce everything from small components to large structural parts, including complex industrial castings with thin walls and intricate internal cavities.
The process follows several main stages: tooling, wax injection, shell building, dewaxing, shell firing, pouring, cooling and shell knockout, cutoff and cleaning, and finishing.
Our silica sol castings serve a wide range of applications, including:
- Valves: fluid valves and solenoid valves
- Pipe fittings: elbows and connectors
- Impellers: open and closed impellers
- Automotive parts: exhaust systems, air-conditioning condenser and heat-exchange components, manifolds, etc.
- Construction machinery: excavator wear parts and lock components
